Traditional Christmas Walkies

Every year on Christmas day, in the afternoon, before Christmas lunch/dinner my family and I go for a walk. It’s such a lovely tradition and so nice to get out into the fresh air. Catherine and I took a break from building my dad’s Lego Land Rover Defender and we all piled into the car and made our way to Headley Heath. It is only about a 15 minute drive away. Plus it is on the way to see a someone special…

We can’t not stop by and see Sam and give him a special Christmas treat.

I thought I would share a few of the pictures (throughout the post) from the walk because the Surrey Hills are beautiful! I’ll even pop in one or two from last year. There are definitely one or two hills that are killers to walk up. But that all adds to the fun, especially if there is a lot of mud.

You see a fair few people out walking on Christmas day but you also get to see lots of dogs, some cows, and the odd pheasant!

The cows were right next to the path we were going to take so we took a detour since (apparently) cows will sometimes charge at you. We didn’t want to take that chance!

Now we didn’t get as dressed up as last year!

But we did climb a few trees…I always love climbing trees.

And try to avoid as much mud as possible!

Well some of us did.

After the walk we went home to watch the Queen’s speech, eat lunch, drink some Champagne, and carry on working on the Defender!

The next day we were off to Marrakech bright and early! Stay tuned for that.

Love,
