Superjeep in Iceland

Seeing the Northern Lights has been top of my bucket list for years! I finally got the chance to see them over Thanksgiving with Superjeep! Annnndd it was amazing!

We booked to see them the 1st day we arrived in case we didn’t see them we still had 2 more nights/chances. I spent a lot of time researching who to go with, what way to see them…the whole nine yards. I finally choose Superjeep and I am so glad I did. They were amazing! They pick you up from your hotel in one of their suped up jeeps. Our jeep consisted of 4 of us plus the driver – who was awesome by the way. You then drive out of town and meet up with a bunch of their other jeeps. They take you off road, which was a lot of fun. We nearly spun out one time which made it that bit more exciting. We also had to make several attempts to get up a snowy hill! Once they spot the lights they take as many pictures of you as you like. They upload them onto facebook so you have access to them (and they don’t charge you extra!).

You visit a couple of different spots and on the last one they give you hot chocolate with a dash of Vodka (if you want it – I recommend it – it really warms you up).

After a couple of hours you head home! We shared our jeep with a really nice couple from London and over the experience was great! They really do everything they can to make sure you see the lights. They also provide a commentary, through the radio, on the way home where they tell you more about the lights. It is pretty amusing, at least it was when we went!

This was one of my favourite experiences in Iceland!
