Washington Farms in Oconee County at Fall

Washington Farms

Fall is finally here! I have lived in Athens many years and each October I talk about wanting to go to Washington Farms in Oconee County however, I never end up going. This year I finally made it! And on opening day. If you are looking for a place to get a last minute pumpkin this is the place. Plus you can make a day out of it because you get to pick and cut your own! They have all sorts of pumpkins, some for carving and others for eating or baking. They also have popcorn if you get hungry while choosing the perfect pumpkin.

They had white, orange and green pumpkins when I went so there were plenty to choose from. They also have lots of sizes! I believe the orange and green ones were 50 cents a pound and the white ones $1 a pound. They also have wheelbarrows and cutters so you don’t need to bring anything, just yourselves and your rain boots!

If you have extra time they have lots of other activities such as a corn maze, wagon rides, and many more! With everything going on you need to buy tickets online, for any activity, before you go (not needed if you are just going to pick pumpkins). You then have a scheduled time for your activity. Make sure to check their website for more information and also opening days and times. You still have a few more days before Halloween!

Have you visited Washington Farms?
