All Saints Leather Jacket & Phantom Bag

Happy Friday!

This All Saints leather jacket was a Christmas present from my husband which I love because it is such a classic piece. The leather is so soft on it that it already feels worn in.  All Saints and leather jackets are synonymous with each other and I can understand why! I love pairing a leather biker jacket with a classic white t-shirt and jeans. I added these black flats because I thought the spikes gave something a little bit extra to the outfit. Finally, I added a pop of colour (but still tried to stay somewhat neutral) with this Phantom bag. This bag was a purchase a while back (I bought it preloved after selling a Fendi 2jours bag – find out more here) and I enjoy that it is one of those bags you can just thrown stuff into. It also holds a lot!

What do you guys have planned for the weekend?

Walking into the weekend like….

All Saints Skirt

I saw this All Saints skirt while I was doing some Christmas shopping a few days before Christmas. However, I decided to wait thinking it may go on sale after Christmas. I lucked out! I ordered it online in January at 20% off. It is a great black denim skirt that wraps around making it a little bit different. I paired it with my new favourite shirt which was a gift from my mum and it is the softest most comfortable shirt I have. They make it in a dress but I know the shirt borderlines on looking like pyjamas so I thought the dress crossed that line.

My Stuart Weitzman OTK boots are my most worn, favourite boots year after year and so it should be no surprise I paired this skirt and top with them. I just think they go with everything and make such a statement in a simplistic way.

Grey Jeans and Chelsea Boots

I picked up some grey jeans and chelsea boots while I was in England and wore them when I went to Guildford one evening to meet my friend Katy for dinner. I kept it very causal and comfortable pairing both with a bright top, leather jacket and hat.

After dinner we set off to find a place to have one last drink before heading home. We ended up at The Kings Head where we were both thoroughly entertained by 2 men practicing magic tricks on us and a man who was dressed up as a red nose walking through the door (for red nose day). I always want to know how the magic tricks are done and Katy and myself couldn’t stop trying to figure out how they were done on the walk back towards our lift home.

Bob Bob Ricard…

My husband (Corey) and I always try and find a new (fancy/different) restaurant to try whenever we venture back over the pond to good ol’ England. Last time it was his pick – Hawksmoor Seven Dials in Covent Garden (very good!). This time it was my turn to choose and Bob Bob Ricard was top of my list, it had been for about the last 4 months! I was excited not only to try the Russian inspired British menu it had on offer but also wear the new dress Corey had got me for my birthday.

We took the train up to London, looking as elegant as possible (as required), and made our way to Piccadilly Circus.

Bob Bob Ricard (BBR) was nestled between side streets right past the Golden Square (a historic square in the heart of soho). We were immediately greeted and sat as we walked in the dimly lit entrance way. Our table was a small booth close to the bar and it, of course, had the signature “Press for Champagne” button which I did end up pressing (cheeky – how can you not?). The interior of this place was ornate with a strong Art Deco theme. One word – Beautiful!

What followed was a great meal with some really tasty cocktails and drinks!

We started with -18 degrees Voht-kah (said in a Russian accent) shots before really taking a good look at the menu.

Apéritifs were ordered – I had a dirty Martini and Corey had a glass of white wine.

When the starters came we dug right in. We over ordered and so there was so much to choose from – Waldorf Salad, Sea bass Ceviche with avocado, oysters, and Truffled Siberian Pelmeni (a Russian inspired dish of dumplings filled with crab and lobster).

In between all the deliciousness I pushed the “button” and received a lovely glass of champagne while Corey decided to try the “oyster martini.”

Pudding consisted of the BBR signature Chocolate Glory (to share) and one last cocktail – the passion fruit & Elderflower martini. Sadly the video I took of the Pudding will not load on here but here is what it looks like.

Italian Dinner

The other night after I got off work my husband, a friend of mine and myself all headed out for an Italian dinner. It wasn’t anything fancy but just a laid back evening with good food. We headed to Depalma’s, a restaurant a few minutes down the road from us, and settled in a booth with the menus on hand.

We started with some fresh bread and olive oil and also some housemade focaccia bread with spinach and smoked gouda sauce.

Starter

This was followed by fettuccine with meat sauce for myself.

Fetaccini

Spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs plus a side salad for my husband.

Meatballs Salad

And Shrimp Charmaine for my friend Jill.

Shrimp

Shrimp Charmaine – sautéed shrimp with a spicy sun–dried tomato, spinach & jalapeño cream sauce over fettuccine.

Everything was covered with shredded parmesan cheese!

We also paired this with a bottle of red wine! Nothing fancy.

Dinner was followed by dessert (we went all out! ha). The Chocolate Torte, Zuppa Inglese, and Cannoli were all brought to the table and quickly devoured.

Dessert

Zuppa Inglese – Sponge cake soaked with rum and expresso topped with chocolate and vanilla mousses.

Dessert Torte

Torte – filled with chocolate ganache and served a la mode

Cannoli

Cannoli – Italian pastry filled with sweetened ricotta cheese and chocolate chips.

I kept the evening casual with jeans, a sweater, boots, and a hat.
