Autumn Layers

Autumn Layers

At 10:21am today it was officially Autumn. The beginning of a new season is always exciting! Here are a few ideas for your Autumn closet/beauty regime/house as the weather starts to cool down. Boots and a dark plum lipstick are always a must. You cannot go wrong with this lipstick. It lasts ALL day! A leather biker jacket and a hat are other good staples to have. I am loving this wool hat!

What are you looking forward to most this Autumn?

August POPSUGAR #MustHaveBox

It’s that time of month again…..Time for the August POPSUGAR Must Have Box.

Everything

POPSUGAR sent me this Must Have Box to try and I wanted to share with you all what came in it. If you remember I also received the July POPSUGAR box and to see what came in that click here.

I opened up these fun House of Pom cocktail napkins first. Each one has a different emoji on it and they will be great for serving up cocktails on in the hot summer months!

Napkins Cocktail napkins

Speaking of summer…i’m sure you have all seen the fun floats making their rounds on instagram. Lately, I’ve seen the large doughnut with a bite taken out, the pizza and the flamingo to name a few. Well now there is one for your drinks! How fun is this Sunnylife inflatable drink holder in the shape of a swam! Obviously, I can’t wait to use this at the pool while sunbathing and sipping on some drinks.

Inflatable

Another item good for summer (beach/pool) is this Sachajuan ‘Hair in the sun‘ because it protects your hair from harmful summer rays and it will not wash off while in the water because it only comes off with shampoo. This sounds like it would be great for someone who colours their hair and/or is in the sun a lot.

Hair 2 Hair

Moving on to the last few pieces: The first is this black and white skinny scarf; and I hear skinny scarfs have now taken the place of statement necklaces. Second, a cute pineapple pin (others here, here and here) to hold it in place and finially “Oh my Brow” a subtle brow highlight that I cannot wait to try.

Scarf Pattern Pin Oh my Brow brow pencil Swatch

Oh and how can I forget the retro Joe Crisps (chips to those reading from America) I snacked on while writing this blog and the $20 gift card to Troveup.com.

Crisps

I ‘m always impressed with the POPSUGAR #MustHaveBox as it comes with fun and interesting pieces! You can order yours here and they are also offering a $5 off coupon code (SHOP5) for your first order.

The Ivy London

I first heard about the restaurant ‘The Ivy’ 12 or 13 years ago and since it has been on my radar as a place I would like to try. After we got back from Amsterdam my sister and I were set to take a Gin making class in London (‘Buffington’s was to be my creation!). However, I had multiple problems when trying to book the class. First, the payment system, then whether I would even get the ticket on time (I couldn’t just pick it up) and then whether or not we would even be able to catch the last train home! It was obviously not in the stars! My mum then suggested we all go up to town for dinner instead.
The first restaurant that popped into my head was naturally the Ivy! I managed to get a last booking and put it on the calendar! Since I was free that day I decided that I would go up a little early and have a wonder around the shops. We would then we would all meet later at the restaurant.  I made my way up and my first stop was Harrods, obviously. I love to look around Harrods, not just for their beautiful pieces but simply to people watch. The species of human that walk around are astonishing.  After hitting a few more of the shops I finally made my way to The Ivy.
Who can resist a good Bathroom selfie??

The Ivy has been around since 1917 and is in the West End, by many of the theaters. It recently went through a renovation but still has the art deco feel! I love the coloured glass and that it just has an old timer’s classic feel to it (they take your coat and pull out your chair for you!). We were sat right away and made our way thoroughly through the menu. After a round of drinks (good ol’ Gin n’ Tonics) we put in our order.

We started with the Giant Tiger Prawns for an appetizer. From there it was onto Crab Macaroni, courgette, ricotta & pea Risotto, double pork sausages (bangers and mash) for everyone and a cheeky second drink (dirty vodka martini).

Now, no matter how much you eat, there is always room for dessert! My sister always says regular food goes to your stomach but dessert goes to the heart, not what our dietician mother wants to hear!
IMG-20160402-WA0007
For dessert we got an array of things: Chocolate pudding soufflé (my favourite!), sticky toffee pudding and Bramley apple crumble pie.

With full bellies we strolled slowly back to Waterloo to catch the next train home.

Nordstrom Anniversary SALE

Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale

I wanted to take a quick break between my Amsterdam posts because as most of you know the Nordstrom anniversary sale opened to the public today. This is one of the biggest sales of the year and bloggers have been posting about it non-stop! I wanted to share with you all a few I got as well as some other fantastic deals I had to (very hesitantly) pass on (otherwise my bill would have been astronomical-it is so easy to do!).

Leggings are one of my go to items in the Autumn and winter. Simply pairing them with a white tee (or long sweater) and boots make for an easy and comfortable outfit. These leggings were rated just under 5 *’s and have over 2000(!) reviews. At $33 they seem like a steal! I can’t wait till they arrive so I can see if they are worth all the hype. I will keep you posted.

Leggings

I have been wearing my Valentino trainers I got back in March ALL the time. They are very comfortable and easy to pair with outfits. The fact that they are black means they go with everything. Well I saw these pumas included in the sale and thought they might be a nice backup to have.

Trainers

As I said above I LOVE an oversized sweater. This sweater looked so comfortable and I really liked the V neck because I can easily add a statement necklace to dress it up a bit. I ordered a size up so that it would be oversized. It comes in 4 colours and is also under $40!

Jumper

Lastly, I added the top to my basket because I liked the pattern and felt it could be easily dressed up for work or down with a pair of jeans. I’m a lttle hesitant on whether or not it is going to be too sheer but I will have to wait and see.

Shirt

Here are some other great deals they have….

Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale Cont.

You can’t go wrong with a pair of Rag & Bone boots! I also think this coat is Amazing! I think the camel colour is so chic! I love this earring. I have the Black and clear ones and wear them all the time. Isn’t this palette great…It contains everything you need for your cheeks (blush, bronzer and a highlighter). Check out some of my other picks above.

Make sure to check out the great deals at Nordstrom!! Let me know what you guys get!

Lots of Love,

Buffy xx

P.S. M. Gemi is also having a great sale if you are looking for beautiful shoes!

Current Wish List

It’s been a little while since I have done a fashion post. I have some planned for later posts but in the meantime here is some fashion inspiration. I am loving blue and white right now. I think it is perfect for the warmer months! Check out a few items on my current wishlist (definitely a wish list since many of these things are investment pieces $$).

Leather and Suede…

Faux Leather

I picked up this faux leather dress after Christmas in the sales and the price could not be beat (under $30)! I actually ended up wearing it on New Years Eve with these OTK boots (which are also suede) and wavy hair (not like the disaster going on in these pictures). I like the pairing of (faux) leather and suede because I feel that the suede softens the harshness of the leather. That is why I also like this dress with these shoes here, which by the way are some of the most comfortable shoes I own. The ties just add a little bit something extra!

This coat has been one of my best investments. It is so warm. I wore it when we went to France last year and it kept me toasty the entire time.

Wifey Grey T-Shirt

I received this Wifey t-shirt for Christmas and it has quickly become one of my favourite shirts to wear because it is so soft. See how I styled it below!

This gold bracelet was a Christmas gift from my sister (my husband received the guys version). The coordinates on the front are for the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Florida where we got engaged and then the back has the date we got married. Such a cool gift! The Union Jack charm was a gift I got in my stocking (also love this one). It is funny because my sister lives in England and she has the American Flag charm!

I hope you all have a great week!

Happy New Year (I’m still writing 2015 on everything and having to change that 5 to a 6, who else is still doing that?)!! I hope you all had a nice relaxing Christmas. I enjoyed mine with my husband, dogs and our families. It was so nice to have my family over from England and we also got the good news that my in-laws will be moving closer to us!

It has just recently become cold in Athens (Christmas Day it was 75 degrees!!) and so this is the perfect sweater, plus – who doesn’t love a comfy sweater paired with some boots! These OTK boots are made of a stretchy material so they mould to your leg and they feel like you are not wearing heels! I paired them with some of my favourite ripped jeans and a super soft sweater. It also just went on sale, what more could you ask for?!

I got these earrings for Christmas and I am so excited to wear them, I haven’t really taken them off. They are great for everyday and have a nice weight to them. This bag is classic and can be dressed up or down, plus it actually holds quite a bit. As you can tell from previous posts I usually opt. for gold accessories and hardware. When I saw these sunglasses though I fell in love and they match the silver hardware on this bag which is another bonus and a nice change!

How did everybody bring in their New Year? Have you guys set any New Years resolutions?

Lots of Love,

Christmas Gift Ideas Part 1

Christmas Ideas for Her...
I cannot believe that it is almost the end of November! Christmas is nearly upon us (1 month away!) and I am just now starting my Christmas shopping…nothing like waiting till last minute! Do you guys wait till after Black Friday to start Christmas shopping or hope to be done before then? There are so many sales and promo codes coming up that it can be good to wait…I’m getting off topic!
Anyway, here are a few Christmas gifts (ideas) that I picked out if you are buying for any females in your life. I LOVE Diptyque candles. They have lovely scents and such a good throw. They are nice because they are something you may not usually buy yourself because they are a little pricey! I received a Kindle as a birthday gift a few years ago and love that you can carry around sooooo many books on the one device. They are great for travel! You can never go wrong with a classic black bag….especially when it is Mulberry! Or some classic red pumps for the Christmas season. I thought these dainty earring were pretty and nice to mix and match. As it gets colder it is nice to be able to bundle up in a classic trench coat and checkered scarf. Lastly, two ideas for some wall art: a couple of different sized frames to frame some of your favourite memories (and it’s fun creating different designs on the wall with all the different frames) and a Print of the Prada Marfa sign.
What are some of your Christmas gift ideas?
Stay tuned for Part 2 which is gift ideas for all the men in your lives!
Lots of Love,
Buffy x
