I picked up some grey jeans and chelsea boots while I was in England and wore them when I went to Guildford one evening to meet my friend Katy for dinner. I kept it very causal and comfortable pairing both with a bright top, leather jacket and hat.
I love the zip detail on the side.
I headed to Guildford on the train and after meeting at the station we headed to Jamie’s.
After dinner we set off to find a place to have one last drink before heading home. We ended up at The Kings Head where we were both thoroughly entertained by 2 men practicing magic tricks on us and a man who was dressed up as a red nose walking through the door (for red nose day). I always want to know how the magic tricks are done and Katy and myself couldn’t stop trying to figure out how they were done on the walk back towards our lift home.

Lots of Love,
I have been online window shopping again…this time it is Online Window Shopping – Basics! I think it is definitely worth investing in great basic pieces that will last wear after wear. Investing in these pieces is worthwhile because they will not only last season after season but never go out of style but can be easily spruced up with some lower priced trendy items.
As it is cold out side right now I will start with a coat. You can never go wrong with a classic trench coat! I also really like Duffle/Toggle coats like Paddington Bear wears. Finding one with a big hood is a must because it will keep you really warm! A classic nude (or black) pump is another fantastic piece that will go with anything and is something every lady should have in her wardrobe. A nice sweater will keep you warm and toasty in the winter and can also be worn with a plethora of items – jeans, skirts, dress trousers…you name it!
Next up is a large brim fedora. Now I realize this may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I don’t think you can go wrong with such a classic hat (I also LOVE hats). It is also a plus that it keeps your head warm and your hair somewhat out of your face on cold and windy days. We can’t talk about classics and not mention the little black dress! I am loving this one and this one! For accessorizes, I think a great pair of sunglasses is a must; be sure to find something that fits and works with your face shape. There are so many images available online that show what shape and style suits what face shape. A favourite of mine is the Ray ban Wayfarer.
I am going to finish off with a bag (another favourite of mine)! I picked a piece I currently have and love using, a Mulberry Bayswater. This is an amazing bag that fits in the crook of your arm and can hold an amazing amount that make it easy to transition from office to day off.
When I look to invest in pieces, see the price tag and flinch I try to calculate cost per wear. If it is something I am going to wear over and over again the cost per wear goes way down – at least that is my justification! Haha!
What are some of your key pieces that you think every wardrobe should have?
Lots of Love,
