This All Saints leather jacket was a Christmas present from my husband which I love because it is such a classic piece. The leather is so soft on it that it already feels worn in. All Saints and leather jackets are synonymous with each other and I can understand why! I love pairing a leather biker jacket with a classic white t-shirt and jeans. I added these black flats because I thought the spikes gave something a little bit extra to the outfit. Finally, I added a pop of colour (but still tried to stay somewhat neutral) with this Phantom bag. This bag was a purchase a while back (I bought it preloved after selling a Fendi 2jours bag – find out more here) and I enjoy that it is one of those bags you can just thrown stuff into. It also holds a lot!
My friend took me for drinks in the toilet….sounds weird right?! Well, keep reading to find out why anybody in their right mind would want to do that….
Let me start by saying sorry I have been MIA. I didn’t realize how long it had been since my last post! Back in March I headed over to England for a few weeks to see my family and friends, specifically to surprise my sister, who never saw in coming! It was so nice to be back home for a bit. The first weekend that I was back I spent in London with a good friend of mine from school, or as the Americans say “high school”. I headed up Saturday afternoon and the first stop was wedding dress shopping; she had an appointment booked so I met her there and after we headed off to lunch.
Lunch was at Dandelyan Bar at the Mandrain London at Sea Containers (a mouthful I know). We just popped in for a quick drink and bite to eat before heading back to her flat. We shared the celeriac & Smoked Chicken Flatbread as well as the Rice Paper Vegtable Summer Rolls. Both delicious and easily enough to fill you up (I suggest you take a look at their cocktails menu because it had a great variety and everything looked good!).
Dinner, that evening, was at a Vietnamese Restaurant on Kingsland Road, a great Restaurant that was very reasonably priced. After that we headed back over to London Bridge area as my friend had made reservations to have drinks in an old underground toilet/loo. Sounds pretty weird but who doesn’t want to visit an old underground public toilet that has been made into a bar!? It is called the Bearmsendy Arts club (no clues that it is in fact a loo!). It was a really cool space with exceptional drinks, make sure to look down while you are in there as you can still see the outline of where the toilets were! It is a strange thought while having drink but just adds to the interesting space and atmosphere.
With jet lag setting in for me, after a few rounds we headed back home for the night. If you are in London I definitely recommend checking out the Bermondsey Arts club. Do make sure to book in advance because I believe they only take reservations and the location is not very big, but it is well worth the effort!
I picked up this faux leather dress after Christmas in the sales and the price could not be beat (under $30)! I actually ended up wearing it on New Years Eve with these OTK boots (which are also suede) and wavy hair (not like the disaster going on in these pictures). I like the pairing of (faux) leather and suede because I feel that the suede softens the harshness of the leather. That is why I also like this dress with these shoes here, which by the way are some of the most comfortable shoes I own. The ties just add a little bit something extra!
This coat has been one of my best investments. It is so warm. I wore it when we went to France last year and it kept me toasty the entire time.
Being from England and living in America (especially the South) has its obstacles; you can’t get good Pimms, you can’t have a classic rainy, cold ‘summer’ BBQ and you certainly can’t go for a stroll on the Heath! However, now you can have some good ‘ole pub food and The Royal Peasant fits the bill!
This small British Pub tucked away in the heart of Five Points is where you will find everything from half pints to crisps to bangers and mash….as well as some fish and chips! What more could a Brit ask for?!
The other afternoon my husband and I headed over there for a late lunch on my day off. We both had the Burger and a salad to share. I also recommend the house crisps, chicken curry and fish and chips (basically you can’t go wrong here!) While you are at it don’t forget to order a pint (of cider)…or half!
This is Corey’s mad face when I tell him I have to take a picture before starting!
I wore a dress I picked up a couple of weeks ago from Equipment. I love their stuff – it is so simple and comfortable, this dress especially because you can easily dress it up with these pumps (I wore this out for my husbands birthday back in May) or keep it casual for a pub lunch!
P.S. My 100th post is fast approaching, and to celebrate there is going to be a surprise, prize giveaway! Keep your eyes peeled for clues and information on my Instagram @LotsofLoveBuffy and this space!!
