All Saints Skirt

I saw this All Saints skirt while I was doing some Christmas shopping a few days before Christmas. However, I decided to wait thinking it may go on sale after Christmas. I lucked out! I ordered it online in January at 20% off. It is a great black denim skirt that wraps around making it a little bit different. I paired it with my new favourite shirt which was a gift from my mum and it is the softest most comfortable shirt I have. They make it in a dress but I know the shirt borderlines on looking like pyjamas so I thought the dress crossed that line.

My Stuart Weitzman OTK boots are my most worn, favourite boots year after year and so it should be no surprise I paired this skirt and top with them. I just think they go with everything and make such a statement in a simplistic way.

Shades of Green – Playsuit

Happy Monday Everybody! This is a continuation of my previous post. In that one you saw the makeup I wore to a wine dinner, well here is the outfit! It got this green playsuit (that looks like a dress from the front) a couple of months ago and have been really excited about wearing it. I thought the wine dinner was the perfect occasion.

I think this playsuit is great because it can easily be dressed up or down and can be worn year round. Here I just paired it with tights to help stay warm and heeled booties just to dress it up a bit. In the summer, minus the tights and add some sandals!

Here it is!

I will say I had to snap pictures the next day because when we left we were running late (not my fault) and it was too dark. The next day it was SO cold, I had a hard time keeping my jacket open and scarf not bundled around me. On top of that it was really windy! Yet, I still had a great time and thank you to my good friend Virginia for taking them for me!

P.S. I am not one to match my eye makeup (and earrings) to my outfit BUT it was all green and that is a favorite of mine – also I think the green eyeliner was subtle enough that it worked.

Monthly Favourites – October

Welcome to my first Monthly favourites – October post!

I can’t believe that it is already the beginning of November! This year has gone by so fast. This post is going to be on some things I have been loving in October. Apart from Halloween and seeing my dog dressed up as a Crawfish/Crayfish keep reading below to see what I am loving.

Boss as a crawfish

How mad does he look! He went and hid in his cage…now he is a crawfish in a cage!

Crawfish in a cage

Best Halloween costume EVER…and it is even better because I got it in New Orleans (next blog post)!

I got this necklace at the beginning of the month and I know you have seen it loads but I love it. I love elephants (obviously that is why I bought it) but the detail is also great and I love just throwing it on with t-shirts or shift dresses! It is said that elephants bring good luck so we shall see.

Even thought it has not been as cold as I like I have really enjoyed wearing these boots when I have had the chance. They are so comfortable and great with everything (leggings, jeans and dresses). A friendly tip: they are so much easier to put on with knee high stockings or socks! I made the mistake of just slipping them on one day to try them with something, without socks, and it took me about 25 minutes to get them on and off!

This Argan oil I have been loving as both a hair conditioner and moisturiser in October! It makes my hair feel so soft and then when I use it on my face it also feels great and not greasy at all!

Argan oil

I have also been using Advanced Night Repair consistently for the month of October (5 drops each night) as my face serum (before moisturiser) and it has made a world of difference in my skin! Love it!

I had been looking for a black affordable clutch for a while and one day while I was killing time at Lenox mall I came across this one from Madewell. I really like that, even with the small size of it, it has compartments in it (ones for your cards and then also another pocket). They happened to be doing free monograms at the time so I thought “why not?” it gives it a bit more character don’t you think? Also, I find the quality of their leather products really great for the price.

I instagramed a picture of this brush a few weeks ago and it has definitely made my favourites. It makes contouring so much easier – as well as quicker. If you like contouring this is a great brush to have in you makeup kit/collection.

Lastly, a book that I have not been able to put down this month is ‘The Litigators‘ by John Grisham. If you like books that suck you in and you do not want to put down this is one of them. It is a legal fiction book so if you like that topic I would definitely recommend it.

That’s it for now! I hope you enjoyed this favourites post – I plan to do one at the end of each month. Let me know what you think.

Happy Guy Fawkes Day for tomorrow! What are you guys up to for it?

Online Window Shopping

currently Coveting 2 Use this

There have been so many friends and family sales this week so I have been doing a lot of online window shopping! Here are a few things that caught my eye. I love Diptyque candles and think this one would be great for Autumn. It has a unique woodsy scent that is both masculine and feminine (I love their 34 solid perfume which is also woodsy and androgynous). I have had my eye on this ring for a while. I love it! It is a Herkimer diamond and I think it is so different. The designer also makes one with a Tourmaline crystal, which is also stunning. I can’t decide which one I like more. If you are into crystals any you would love this piece and many of her others. These boots looks so comfy and timeless. I love the zip up the back. They would look great with both jeans and skirts. I love stripes and think this dress would be great for not only summer but also Autumn. Just add a wide brim fedora, tights and some boots! This jumper also would be great for the cooler months and I love the stars on it! I have a couple of piece of Julie Vos jewelry and think these bangles would be great pieces to add to my collection. I think the detail is beautiful on them. Lastly, I like the print on this skirt and think the matching top would be fun to pair with it but also a simple black tee.

Did you guys find any good sales this week?

Jewelry Storage

Hello again!

Not sure if you’ve seen my shoe storage post, but I have followed the same principle with my jewelry. I love being able to see all my different pieces so I don’t forget about any (or over wear others).

Personally I use three different methods of displaying my more statement pieces.

The first one I saw whilst I was on Pinterest. I saw that someone had used a towel rod and shower curtain hooks! This is how mine came out:

I found this black iron rod Fleur de Lis towel holder while I was at Hobby Lobby and loved it because it isn’t your classic towel rod! I also found a 40% off coupon on my phone and got it for a great price, isn’t the detail amazing? Trying to find black shower curtain hooks is a lot harder than you think, so after a lot of searching I got these (almost black) from Lowes. Very handy the way they open and close, what do you think?

The second storage idea is a mannequin that I found at TJ Maxx Homegoods.

Although somewhat creepy at first (according to my husband who now just hides it in rooms for me to find!!), I now love the feel it brings to a room. This is a good idea for heavier/chunkier necklaces etc. so that they don’t weigh down on the wall (see above). It is also great for belts and hats!

The last one is a really easy way to store long and dangly earrings. I found a frame I liked (Hobby Lobby again) and bought some chicken wire (Lowes again). Just cut the chicken wire to match the width of the back of the frame and glued it on (I used paper to help keep the wire down). Then I just hang the frame on the wall, and started placing earrings on, easy!

Let me know what works best for you guys!

Lots of Love,

Buffy xx
